Jimmy S. Trujillo 93 entered life in Pueblo Colorado July 6, 1929 and entered into eternal life May 14, 2023 in Lakewood, Colorado at home with his loved ones. Preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Martha B. Trujillo.
Jimmy truly lived in the golden age. He joined the army at age 17. After coming home, he enjoyed dancing to the big bands Jimmy Dorsey and The Glenn Miller Band at Elitch‘s and Lakeside where he met the love of his life Martha B.Trujillo who he married soon after. He owned and operated the most successful “Trujillo Drywall “ Company in the late 50’s into the 80’s one of the largest drywall companies at the time.
Jimmy enjoyed fishing and golfing, but he especially enjoyed going to Las Vegas to gamble. He definitely was a highroller. He would enjoy at least one show if not two shows nightly. Including a New Year’s Eve celebration with the one and only Elvis Presley at the Hilton Hotel showroom. Not to mention the Rat Pack, Tony Orlando, and Liberace to name a few. After watching these Las Vegas shows he would continue to the lounge shows until 3 o’clock in the morning. He truly loved his music. Also in Las Vegas he was ringside to some of the biggest boxing matches in history from Muhammad Ali to Oscar De La Hoya and George Foreman. Another joy in his life was being around people, laughing and joking. He would go to the Goodwill‘s and garage sales to buy a lot of junk and to do just that, talk and joke with friends and new acquaintances.
He lived a full life even in his 90’s he continued to go to Disneyland a couple times a year. Going on rides from It’s a Small World to the Rockin’ Roller Coaster. Have lunch and dinner at least 2 to 3 times a week with his family. Which brings us to the biggest love of his life, his family. Nothing meant more to him than his six kids and 13 grandkids. He supported us in every venture with strength, love and compassion. He always encouraged us to follow our dreams and believe. Not only in ourselves, but to believe in our faith, religion, and our lord.
Being an amazing son, Father, Husband, Popo (grandfather), and friend, he will be missed by so many. He truly was an example of kindness, love, humor, generosity, goodness, and success, his love and legacy will live on forever.
