Celebrating the Life of Ralph “Ray” Roger Falce

October 4th, 1936 – September 7th, 2023

Ralph Roger Falce (Ray), of Longmont, Colorado, passed away on September 7th, 2023, at the age of 86. His wife of 66+ years and family were by his side.

Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, mentor, and friend. His life was filled with family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and those associated with the church and faith that he loved. He knew and loved so many and so many knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed.

Born as Ralph in Pittsburgh, PA on October 4th, 1936, to Ann and Ralph Falce. He left home at 18 and joined the Air Force in October 1954 as part of the 3320th Technical Training Wing at Amarillo AFB, Texas. By March of ’55 as an aircraft mechanic, he was stationed at McConnell AFB (SAC) in Kansas. Ray was honorably discharged in 1958, earned a degree in aeronautical engineering at Wichita State University in 1962, and later a master’s in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado.

Ray began his career with Martin Marietta Aerospace and the family moved to Colorado in 1962. He was with Martin Marietta for 17 years and involved in multiple initiatives that were part of the larger space program (NASA), as well as an integral part of the teams engaged in putting a lander (Viking Landers 1 and 2) on Mars. Mission accomplished by 1976.

From there, Ray moved on into the private industry holding key leadership roles in the growing computer hardware industry with Storage Technology, Intellistor, and Fujitsu.

Ray built a strong, faith-based foundation and home from which he would serve his family, his Catholic faith, and his community. He treated and served others with love, humility, encouragement, cheerfulness, and laughter. Ray never lost sight of his priorities of faith and family and he was committed to his family and his many friends. Ray embraced life and always found ways to bring fun and play time into his life and share those special moments with his family and friends whether it was boating, golfing, flying, skiing, traveling, and more golfing.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Vonnie; brother Tom; sons Raymond and Matthew; daughters Regina, Christina, and Stacia; grandchildren, Father Joshua, Miriah, and Macrae.
